START TIMES

Choose your own time between 5:30-6:30am. We are not meeting as a group inside beforehand so plan your bathroom strategy accordingly. GZLs HQ will remain closed before and after the runs, but The Loop may be able to accommodate you immediately post-run and after 10:00am. Be mindful of your post-run routine so you don’t block residents at HQ area after your run.

THE MAP

Water stations are normal this week. Hand sanitizer will be affixed to the water barrels to do a quick clean of your water button pushing hands. Feel free to refill your own water bottles as needed. You may want to carry your own water still, depending on any of your own ad libbing on route variations.

THE ROUTES

We will be visiting the RFTW 10 mile course, backwards, for 8-10 mile reconnaissance purposes. Medium long runners will visit Mountain Bonnell.

3 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to northside trail directly towards Mopac. Veterans up to LA Blvd.Turn around there, and return to HQ, retracing your steps all the way Veterans to Mopac to northside trail and to GZLs HQ.

4 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to northside trail directly towards Mopac. Veterans up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Turn around there, and return to HQ, retracing your steps all the way LA Blvd to Mopac to northside trail and to GZLs HQ.

5 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to northside trail directly towards Mopac. Veterans up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to water stop at Memphis (across from Golf Course). Turn around there, and return to HQ, retracing your steps all the way LA Blvd to Mopac to northside trail and to GZLs HQ.

7 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to northside trail directly towards Mopac. Veterans up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Turn around at that corner (Stevenson@Rockmoor), and return Rockmoor to Cherry to Scenic, etc., retracing your steps all the way to northside trail and to GZLs HQ.

Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Windsor. Right on Windsor over a couple streets to Robinhood Trail. Left down Robinhood to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield back over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to northside trail and to GZLs HQ.

Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield back over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to northside trail and to GZLs HQ.

Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Turn around there, and return down Mt. Bonnell Rd. to 35th to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Windsor. Right on Windsor over a couple streets to Robinhood Trail. Left down Robinhood to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield back over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac. You will diverge there, and will take southside trail over to the First St. bridge, where you will cross over LB Lake to northside trail and to GZLs HQ.

16 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to northside trail directly towards Mopac. Veterans up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. You will diverge here from your 14 mile friends. Continue on Mt. Bonnell Road to next right hand street, which is Mt. Bonnell Drive. Right on MBDrive over and across Balcones to Edgemont Drive. Left on Edgemont to last hard left hand corner. Left on Glen Rose Drive up to Balcones. Turn around there, and return Glen Rose to Edgemont to MB Drive back to Mt. Bonnell Road, back to foot of steps, and down Mt. Bonnell Rd. to 35th to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Windsor. Right on Windsor over a couple streets to Robinhood Trail. Left down Robinhood to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield back over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac. You will diverge there, and will take southside trail over to the First St. bridge, where you will cross over LB Lake to northside trail and to GZLs HQ.

RACE SPECIFIC WORKOUTS

HERE ARE SUGGESTED LONG RUN WORKOUTS FOR RACES THAT ARE IN THE FUTURE, AND MAY STILL BE SCHEDULED. IF YOUR RACE IS CANCELED, KEEP YOUR FITNESS BY ALTERNATING A LONGER LONG RUN AND A RECOVERY LONG RUN ON SUCCESSIVE WEEKENDS, DEPENDING ON YOUR CURRENT TRAINING LEVELS. (Ex: Alternate a 10-12 mile run with an 8-10 mile run).

November 8 (Global RFTW): 4-6 miles. Add a mile to your last longer long run, up to that 6 mile max.

December 6 (CIM-cancelled): 12-14 mile recovery run. Back off from last week.

December 6 (San Antonio Half): 5-8 miles recovery long run. Back off from last week.

December 13 (Decker Half): 8-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max.

December 13 (BCS Marathon): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 18 mile max.

January 17, 2021 (3M Half Marathon / Houston Half Marathon): 6-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max.

January 17, 2021 (Houston Marathon): 10-12 mile recovery run. Back off from last week.

February 14, 2021 (Austin Marathon): 7-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max.

February 14, 2021 (Austin Half Marathon): 5-8 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 8 mile max.

2. Memphis @ Lake Austin Blvd (south side opposite golf course)
3. Pecos @ Scenic (on Scenic just before corner)
4. Mt. Bonnell parking lot at base of steps (water only)
