SAT LONG RUN vs. RACING R4TW:
If you are racing Run For The Water on Sunday, you should not run a long run on Saturday. If you’re racing and need more than 10 miles, use RFTW as a 10 mile base in the middle of a 12-20 mile run. (Ex: 2 mile warmup, 10 mile race, 2 mile cool down = 14 mile run).

Our water stops are coordinated to support the routes and start times listed. If you modify the routes or start times, please take water to cover yourselves in case the water is unavailable. (Note: this weekend only, we will just provide water for the long runs. Bring a gel or two if you need that electrolyte boost on your scheduled run)

3 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Turn around there, and return to GZLs HQ. Return Veterans to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.
4 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Left on LA Blvd to Exposition. Turn around there, and return to GZLs HQ. Return Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.
5 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Left on LA Blvd over to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Enfield. Turn around there, and return to GZLs HQ. From there, retrace your steps back down Exposition to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.
7 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Left on LA Blvd over to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Pecos. Right on Pecos up to Windsor. Turn around at Windsor, and retrace your steps back to Mopac (Pecos to Enfield to Exposition, down to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac). You will stay on northside trail, and back to GZLs HQ.

Right on Pecos up to River Road (on your left). Turn around at River Road, and retrace your steps back to Mopac (Pecos to Enfield to Exposition, down to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac). You will stay on northside trail, and back to GZLs HQ.

Right on Hancock to Shoal Creek. Shoal Creek left up to White Rock. Left on White Rock over to Great Northern. Right on Great Northern up to Stoneway, which is the last street before the overhead pedestrian bridge. Turn around there, and retrace your steps back to Mopac (Great Northern to White Rock to Shoal Creek to Hancock to Bull Creek to Jackson to 35th to Pecos to Enfield to Exposition, down to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac). You will diverge from your 20 mile friends, and will stay on northside trail, and back to GZLs HQ.

Right on Hancock to Shoal Creek. Shoal Creek left up to White Rock. Left on White Rock over to Great Northern. Cross to southside trail back to First St. bridge, up and over LB Lake to northside trail, and back to GZLs HQ.
THE MARATHONS
Nov 2-3 (Revel Mt., NYC): Run smart, run with joy. For NYC, take plenty of food and fluids for the long pre-race wait in the staging area.
Nov 10th (Outer Banks): Taper madness finishes. 8-12 miles, with last 4 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace.
Nov. 16th (Richmond): Taper madness week 2. 12-16 miles, with last 6 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace.
Nov 24th (Phillie): Taper madness begins. 14-18 miles, with last 8 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace.
Dec 8th (CIM, BCS, San Antonio, Honolulu): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.
Dec 15th (Dallas White Rock): 18-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 20 mile max.
Jan 12th 2020 (Disney Dopey Challenge): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 18 mile max.
Jan 18th 2020 (REVEL Hawaii, Houston): 10-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.
Feb 9th 2020 (Galveston): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 14 mile max.
Feb 16th 2020 (Austin): 10-12 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.
BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:
Beginner Gazelles! This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max.
Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark.
Nov 3rd (Run For The Water): Saturday, come out at 7:30am and go for a 30 minute easy jog followed by some striders and stretching. Sunday, run smart, run with joy!
Nov 17th (Las Vegas Half): Taper madness Week 2. 6-10 miles, with last 3 miles @ HMGP.
Nov 23th (Shiner Half): Taper madness begins. 8-13 miles, with last 5 miles @ HMGP.
Dec 7th (St. Jude’s Half, San Antonio Half): 5-8 miles. Recovery long run. Back off from last week a bit.
Dec 15th (Dallas Half, Decker Half): 10-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 12 mile max.
