NOTES

Physical therapists in the house Saturday. Take advantage of this free service if you have a nagging pain or tightness in your legs.

Jay is out this week so there will be no stretching.  But do the 20/20 exercises with your running pals.  They're good for you!

THE MAPS

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. We're heading out to Rollingwood this week.

My apologies to those doing this route, it wouldn't map out nicely for 18 miles, so you need to add .5 miles somewhere as an out and back, or add .25 and do the loop around Sand Beach Park (the dog area at the north end of Pfluger bridge) which is also .25.  Some options for adding a .5 mile out and back:
1) After the Treemont water stop, turn left at the first left on Montebello Road and go out .25 then turn around.  When you get back to Liberty Park, don't forget to turn left and do the rest of the posted route to the next road for the turnaround point.
2) From the water stop at LAB and Expostion, go back out LAB or back out Exposition .25 miles and turn around.
3) From the Mopac water fountains, go out .25 on the north side of the trail, then back to Mopac and to the south side.
4) From the wooden Barton Springs bridge, go to the cold fountain at Barton Springs pool and back.  This is more than .25 so you can walk a little cooldown at the end, after hitting 20 miles.
5) From the Auditorium Shores water fountain, go out to Riverside, west along there, then the trail that goes down through the middle and back onto the main trail at the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue.
6) Out and back past the Congress Bridge.

20 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to northside trail, and go out to Congress bridge. Go up and across LB Lake on Congress bridge. Take LAB back to Mopac and cross back to the south side of the trail and to the Congree bridge where you'll cross and go back to GZL HQ.

WATER STOPS
1) Auditorium Shores water fountains
2) Rollingwood Park
3) Treemont Park
4) Mopac water fountains
5) LAB and Exposition

A few extra water fountains of note, because it's going to be hot out there.  You might want to stop if you're passing by any of these.
Barton Spring pool, just outside the men's restroom (outside of the pool, not inside). This one's cold!
Walsh Boat Ramp (just past Enfield on LAB), on the lake facing side of the bathrooms.
Trail, north side where there is a turn off of the trail to go under Cesar Chavez to the Y.  This one is usually cooler than some of the other trail fountains. It's not cold, just cooler.
