Saturday Long Run (Mt. Bonnell, Scenic)

Water stations are normal this week. You may want to carry your own water still, if you are starting way before or after the 5:45 start window that water is usually out there, or if you are ad libbing on route variations.

THE ROUTES

Out and Back from HQ

3 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. Turn around there, and return to HQ, retracing your steps home. Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. NOTE: Option is to run a standard Mopac to Pfluger bridge trail loop, starting with the bike path along Cesar Chavez.

4 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Turn around there, and return to HQ, retracing your steps home. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. NOTE: Option is to run a standard Mopac to First Street bridge trail loop, starting with the bike path along Cesar Chavez.

5 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Right up Exposition to Enfield. Turn around at Enfield, and retrace your steps home.  Exposition back to LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. NOTE: Option is to run a Mopac to Congress bridge trail loop after a bike path start.

6 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Turn around at Enfield, and retrace your steps home.  LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. 

7 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Kennelwood, the first street on your left on Rockmoor. Turn around at Kennelwood, and retrace your steps back to HQ. Rockmoor back to Cherry. Right on Cherry back to name change to Lake Austin Blvd at Mozart’s. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans and bike path back to HQ.

8 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to house on your right with giant vacant lot next to it. Turn around at the giant vacant lot (or where your watch says 4 miles), and retrace your steps back to HQ. Scenic up up past the expensive houses to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor back to Cherry. Right on Cherry back to name change to Lake Austin Blvd at Mozart’s. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans and bike path back to HQ.

10 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Turn around at 35th Street, and retrace your steps back to HQ, down Pecos back to Scenic. Right on Scenic and around to hard left turn at bottom of Scenic at water’s edge. Then, Scenic up up past the expensive houses to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor back to Cherry. Right on Cherry back to name change to Lake Austin Blvd at Mozart’s. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans and bike path back to HQ.

12.3 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Turn around at the base of the steps, and retrace your steps back to HQ, down Mt. Bonnell Rd. to 35th to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Scenic. Right on Scenic and around to hard left turn at bottom of Scenic at water’s edge. Then, Scenic up up past the expensive houses to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor back to Cherry. Right on Cherry back to name change to Lake Austin Blvd at Mozart’s. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans and bike path back to HQ.

Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Continue on Mt. Bonnell Road to next right hand street, which is Mt. Bonnell Drive. Right on MBDrive over and across Balcones to Edgemont Drive. Left on Edgemont to last hard left hand corner. Left on Glen Rose Drive up to first left hand street, which is Madrona. Left on Madrona back to Edgemont. From there, take Edgemont to MB Drive back to Mt. Bonnell Road, back to foot of steps, and down Mt. Bonnell Rd. to 35th to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Scenic. Right on Scenic and around to hard left turn at bottom of Scenic at water’s edge. Then, Scenic up up past the expensive houses to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor back to Cherry. Right on Cherry back to name change to Lake Austin Blvd at Mozart’s. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans and bike path back to HQ.

16 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Continue on Mt. Bonnell Road to next right hand street, which is Mt. Bonnell Drive. Right on MBDrive over and across Balcones to Edgemont Drive. Left on Edgemont to end of Edgemont, and turn left on Glen Ross Drive up to Balcones. Right on Balcones to Hancock. Hancock up and over Mopac to Bull Creek. Right on Bull Creek down to Jackson. Right hand veer onto Jackson down to 35th. Right on 35th up and over Mopac, and down to Pecos. LEFT on Pecos down to Scenic. Right on Scenic and around to hard right turn at bottom of Scenic at water’s edge. Then, Scenic up up past the expensive houses to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor back to Cherry. Right on Cherry back to name change to Lake Austin Blvd at Mozart’s. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans and bike path back towards HQ, finishing with a victory lap of the dog park in front of the condos at HQ.

18 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Continue on Mt. Bonnell Road to next right hand street, which is Mt. Bonnell Drive. Right on MBDrive over and across Balcones to Edgemont Drive. Left on Edgemont to end of Edgemont, and turn left on Glen Ross Drive up to Balcones. Right on Balcones to Hancock. Hancock up and over Mopac to Bull Creek. After water stop on Bull Creek, continue on Hancock over to Shoal Creek. Left on Shoal Creek up to Allendale/2222. Turn around at Allendale/2222, and return Shoal Creek down to Hancock, right on Hancock over to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek down to Jackson. Right hand veer onto Jackson down to 35th. Right on 35th up and over Mopac, and down to Pecos. LEFT on Pecos down to Scenic. Right on Scenic and around to hard right turn at bottom of Scenic at water’s edge. Then, Scenic up up past the expensive houses to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor back to Cherry. Right on Cherry back to name change to Lake Austin Blvd at Mozart’s. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to southside trail, over to Pfluger footbridge. Up and over LB Lake at Pfluger footbridge back to HQ.

20 Miles: Your map is here. You track with your 18 mile pals as noted above, but will diverge at the Pfluger footbridge. You will continue on southside trail to Congress bridge. Curl up and over Congress bridge to northside trail, and then back to HQ.

·      Sept 15th (Sydney, AUS): 18-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 20 mile max.

·      Sept 22nd (Buenos Aires, ARG): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Cut back from last week.

·      Sept 29th (Berlin): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 20 mile max.

·      Oct 5th-6th (St. George, Lisbon): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Cut back from last week.

·      Oct 13th (Chicago): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 18 mile max.

·      Oct 20th (Columbus, Toronto): 10-14 miles recovery long run. Cut back from last week.

·      Nov 3rd (New York, Las Vegas): 10-12 miles recovery long run. Cut back from last week.

·      Nov 24th (Phillie): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max.
