Gilbert will start the group with a pep talk, so don’t be late! If you start way before or after the 5:45am start time, note that you may be ahead of or out after the water team has done their work.

THE ROUTES

3 Miles: Your map is here. Leave HQ to Seaholm, up to 3rd Street. Cross over on 3rd Street to Congress. Left up Congress to 11th Street. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Turn around at San Jac, and return 11th St to Congress. Congress down to 3rd Street. 3rd Street back over to Seaholm and back to HQ.

4 Miles: Your map is here. Leave HQ to Seaholm, up to 3rd Street. Cross over on 3rd Street to Congress. Left up Congress to 11th Street. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto down to MLK. Turn around at MLK, and return San Jac up up to 11th. Right on 11th to Congress. Congress down to 3rd Street. 3rd Street back over to Seaholm and back to HQ.

5 Miles: Your map is here. Leave HQ to Seaholm, up to 3rd Street. Cross over on 3rd Street to Congress. Left up Congress to 11th Street. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto down to and across MLK into UT campus. San Jacinto to and through UT Campus to 23rd Street, the street at the north end of the football stadium to your right. Turn around there, and return San Jacinto through UT Campus, veering right at talking oil derrick. San Jac up up to 11th. Right on 11th to Congress. Congress down to 3rd Street. 3rd Street back over to Seaholm and back to HQ. [NOTE: THIS MEANS YOU WILL RUN 5 MILES WITHOUT A WATER STOP. NOT IMPOSSIBLE, BUT MAKE A NOTE. Left on San Jacinto down to and across MLK into UT campus. San Jacinto to and through UT Campus. Cross Dean Keaton and veer right onto Duval. Duval up up to 38th St. Turn around at 38th St, and retrace your steps home. Return Duval down to San Jacinto. San Jacinto through UT Campus, veering right at talking oil derrick. San Jac up up to 11th. Right on 11th to Congress. Congress down to 3rd Street. 3rd Street back over to Seaholm and back to HQ.

8 Miles: Your map is here. Leave HQ to Seaholm, up to 3rd Street. Cross over on 3rd Street to Congress. Left up Congress to 11th Street. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Duval up up to 43rd St. Turn around at 43rd St (Hyde Park Grill on your left), and retrace your steps home. Return Duval down to San Jacinto.   • July 24 (Jack and Jill Marathon): Taper Madness week 3. 8-12 miles, with last 4 @ MGP. Start easy, and then finish with honest MGP.

  • Sept 11 (Surf City Marathon): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 20 mile max.

  • Sept 11 (Surf City Half Marathon): 8-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max.

  • Sept 19 (San Francisco and Sydney Marathon): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.
