Do not run long on Saturday if you are racing on Sunday. If you plan to do the race but have more than 10 miles on your training schedule, we suggest some warmup miles before the race, then the race, and then cool down miles to get to whatever mileage you have scheduled.

If you start way before or after the 5:45am start time, note that you may be ahead of or out after the water team has done their work.

5 Miles (Two Options): Your map is here. This is a clockwise Congress bridge to Mopac trail loop. Alternatively, if you want to start with the rest of the folks, then here is an optional route: Alternate map is here. Start at HQ, then Electric Avenue to Seaholm, up to and across 3rd Street to the Convention Center. At the Convention Center, take a LEFT up to 4th Street. Right on 4th under I-35 to east side, and take a RIGHT on Waller STREET(not Waller Creek, y’all). Waller St. down to Holly. LEFT on Holly over to Comal. RIGHT on Comal down to Festival Beach Road. RIGHT on Festival Beach Road back to I-35 and northside trail. Take NS trail back to HQ.
7.6 Miles: Your map is here. Start at HQ, then Electric Avenue to Seaholm, up to and across 3rd Street to the Convention Center. At the Convention Center, take a LEFT up to 4th Street. Right on 4th under I-35 to east side, and take a RIGHT on Waller STREET (not Waller Creek, y’all). Waller St. down to Holly. LEFT on Holly all the way to Holly power plant site. Enter NS trail at Holly, out to Longhorn Dam. Cross south on dam, to southside trail and boardwalk back to Pfluger bridge. Cross over LB Lake at Pfluger bridge, back to GZLs HQ.

Enter NS trail at Holly, out to Longhorn Dam. Cross south on dam, to southside trail. Go southside trail and boardwalk to Mopac. Cross lake and go left up Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd, all the way out to Enfield. Hard right onto Enfield, and back to Exposition. LEFT on Exposition up to Bridle Path. RIGHT on Bridle Path to hard corner and name change to Sharon Drive, up to Windsor. Turn around at Windsor, and return Sharon to Bridle Path to Exposition, and LEFT on Exposition down to LAB back to Veterans. Finish to Mopac and bike trail along north side of Cesar Chavez back to GZLs HQ.
18 Miles: Your map is here. Start at HQ, then Electric Avenue to Seaholm, left up to and across 3rd Street to the Convention Center. At the Convention Center, take a LEFT up to 4th Street. Right on 4th under I-35 to east side, and take a RIGHT on Waller STREET (not Waller Creek, y’all). Waller St. down to Holly. LEFT on Holly all the way to Holly power plant site. Enter NS trail at Holly, out to Longhorn Dam. Cross south on dam, to southside trail. Go southside trail and boardwalk to Mopac. Cross lake and go left up Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd, all the way out to Enfield. Hard right onto Enfield, and back to Exposition. LEFT on Exposition up to Bridle Path. RIGHT on Bridle Path to hard corner and name change to Sharon Drive, up to Windsor. Cross Windsor to Indian Trail. LEFT on Indian Trail over to Dormarion Lane. Dormarion across Tower Drive, and veer Left along the park onto Margranita Crescent. Follow Margranita around a long curve, and cross Bland Street to a name change to Bonita Street. You’ll be making a little neighborhood loop. Bonita will end in a left hand turn to Saint Anthony Street, which will T into Greenlee Drive. Right on Greenlee Drive, and it will have a name change to Scott Crescent as it curves around back to Bland Street. RIGHT on Bland up to Margranita. RIGHT on Margranita, around the curve and a gentle left hand veer onto Dormarion. Dormarion down to Indian Trail. LEFT on Indian Trail down to Sharon. Right on Sharon down to corner and Bridle Path. Take Bridle Path to Exposition, and LEFT on Exposition down to LAB back to Veterans. Finish to Mopac and bike trail along north side of Cesar Chavez back to GZLs HQ.
20 Miles: Your map is here. Hang out with your 18 mile pals (above) and at Mopac on your return, go to southside trail, and proceed to First St. Bridge, crossing to northside trail and back to HQ.
22 Miles: Your map is here. Hang out with your 18 and 20 mile pals (above) and at Mopac on your return, go to southside trail, and proceed to First St. Bridge, crossing to northside trail, then continue northside trail out to Mopac one more time, and return to HQ via Veterans and under Cesar Chavez to the bike trail to HQ.

RACE SPECIFIC DISTANCES
Nov 7 (R4TW): SATURDAY SHAKE OUT RUN: Come to HQ at 8:00am for a super easy 20-30 minutes on the trail, followed by some striders and stretching, and then packet pickup at The Loop at 9:00. Otherwise, run smart and run fast on Sunday.
Nov 14 (Malibu Half): Taper Madness week three. 4-8 Miles, with last 3 @ HMGP. Start at a relaxed pace, and then roll into legitimate HMGP for last 3 miles.
Nov 21 (Phillie): Taper Madness week two. 12-16 Miles, with last 6 @ MGP. Start at a relaxed pace, and then roll into legitimate MGP for last 6 miles.
Dec 5 (CIM, San Antonio): 20-22 miles. The last loooonnnggg run. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 22 mile max.
Dec 12 (BCS): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.
Dec 12 (Decker Half Marathon): 5-8 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.
Jan 16 (Houston Marathon): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 18 mile max.
Jan 16 (Houston Half Marathon): 8-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max.
Jan 23 (3M Half Marathon - Beginner/Intermediate): 6-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max; (3M Half Marathon - Advanced): 8-10 miles.
