THE ROUTES

We will be visiting the RFTW 10 mile course, backwards, for 8-10 mile reconnaissance purposes. 10+ milers will go up Mountain Bonnell.

3 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. Turn around there, and return to HQ, retracing your steps home. Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. NOTE: Option is to run a standard Mopac to Pfluger bridge trail loop, starting with the bike path along Cesar Chavez.

4 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Turn around at Expo, and return to HQ, retracing your steps home. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. NOTE: Option is to run a standard Mopac to First Street bridge trail loop, starting with the bike path along Cesar Chavez.

5 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Right up Exposition to Enfield. Turn around at Enfield, and retrace your steps home.  Exposition back to LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. NOTE: Option is to run a Mopac to Congress bridge trail loop after a bike path start.

6 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Turn around at Enfield, and retrace your steps home.  LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. 

7 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. As your 8-14 mile friends turn on Rockmoor, you will stay straight (or veer right) on Cherry Lane. Take Cherry Lane a few blocks to Raleigh Avenue. Right on Raleigh down to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ.

7.9 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Windsor (This is where your 10-14 mile friends split from you). Right on Windsor over a couple streets to Robinhood Trail. RIGHT down Robinhood to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. 

10 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Windsor. Right on Windsor over a couple streets to Robinhood Trail. Left down Robinhood to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ.

Turn around there, and return down Mt. Bonnell Rd. to 35th to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Windsor. Right on Windsor over a couple streets to Robinhood Trail. Left down Robinhood to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to Veterans around AHS track, to bike path along Cesar Chavez and to GZLs HQ. 

14 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Turn around there, and return down Mt. Bonnell Rd. to 35th to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Windsor. Right on Windsor over a couple streets to Robinhood Trail. Left down Robinhood to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to southside trail, and trail over to First Street bridge, up and over LB Lake to northside trail and back to HQ.

16 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Head to bike path on north side of Cesar Chavez towards Mopac. Veterans around AHS track and up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield (Mozart's). Continue Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. You will diverge here from your 14 mile friends. Continue on Mt. Bonnell Road to next right hand street, which is Mt. Bonnell Drive. Right on MBDrive over and across Balcones to Edgemont Drive. Left on Edgemont to last hard left hand corner. Left on Glen Rose Drive up to first left hand street, which is Madrona. Left on Madrona back to Edgemont. From there, take Edgemont to MB Drive back to Mt. Bonnell Road, back to foot of steps, and down Mt. Bonnell Rd. to 35th to Pecos. RIGHT on Pecos down to Windsor. Right on Windsor over a couple streets to Robinhood Trail. Left down Robinhood to Bridle Path. Right on Bridle Path over to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor down to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Exposition. Right on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to southside trail, and trail over to First Street bridge, up and over LB Lake to northside trail and back to HQ.

RACE SPECIFIC DISTANCES

Oct 10 (Chicago): Taper Madness Final Week. 8-12 miles with last 4 @ MGP. Use legit marathon goal pace for last 4 miles, after a relaxed start.

Oct 11 (Boston): Taper Madness Final Week. 10-12 miles with last 4 @ MGP. Use legit marathon goal pace for last 4 miles, after a relaxed start.

Nov 7 (NYC): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.

Nov 7 (R4TW): 4-8 Miles. Add 1 mile to your last longer long run, up to that 8 mile max. This plan is for folks training for their first try at this racing distance.

Nov 14 (Malibu Half): 10-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max.

Nov 21 (Phillie): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.

Dec 5 (CIM, San Antonio): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.

Dec 12 (BCS): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 18 mile max.

Dec 12 (Decker Half Marathon): 8-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max.

Jan 16, 2022 (Houston Marathon): 10-12 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.

Jan 16, 2022 (Houston Half Marathon): 6-8 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 8 mile max.

Jan 23, 2022 (3M Half Marathon): 5-8 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 8 mile max.

Feb 20, 2022 (Austin Marathon): 7-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max.
