START TIMES
Choose your own time between 5:30-6:30am. We are NOT meeting as a group at The Loop, and they will not be open early as usual, so plan your bathroom strategy accordingly. GZLs HQ will remain closed before and after the runs, although the Loop does open on 10:00am Saturdays.
THE ROUTE
Water stations pretty much normal this week. Hand sanitizer will be affixed to the water barrels to do a quick clean of your water button pushing hands. Feel free to refill your own water bottles as needed. You will want to carry your own water still, depending on any gaps with the water stations or your own ad libbing on route variations.
THE MAPS:
3 Miles: From GZL HQ, cross over on the Pfluger Bridge and head west to Mopac and loop back northside back to GZL HQ.
4 Miles: From GZL HQ, cross over on the Pfluger Bridge and head west to Mopac. Go up Veteran's and out LAB to the second driveway of the residential housing. Turn around and take the northside back to GZL HQ.
5 Miles: From GZL HQ, cross over on the Pfluger Bridge and head west to Mopac. Go up Veteran's to LAB and head west. Turn right on Expo and go to W. 12th Street (the north end of O'Henry Middle School). Turn around there, retrace your steps back to Mopac and take the northside trail back to GZL HQ.
7 Miles: From GZL HQ, cross over on the Pfluger Bridge and head west to Mopac. Go up Veteran's to LAB and head west. Turn right on Expo. Turn right on Bridle Path and follow it around as it curves to the left where it becomes Sharon Lane. Go to Griswold Lane and turn around and retrace your steps back to Mopac. Take the northside trail back to GZL HQ.
8 Miles: From GZL HQ, cross over on the Pfluger Bridge and head west to Mopac. Go up Veteran's to LAB and head west. Turn right on Expo. Turn right on Bridle Path and follow it around as it curves to the left where it becomes Sharon Lane. Where that ends, turn left on Indian Trail, then take the first right on Dormarion Lane. Follow that to the multi-way intersection (Dormarion, Tower Drive, and Marganita Crescent) with Tarrytown park on your right and turn around. Retrace your steps back to Mopac and take the northside trail back to GZL HQ.

Follow that to the multi-way intersection (Dormarion, Tower Drive, and Marganita Crescent) with Tarrytown park on your right and take Marganita Crescent. Take a right on Bland Street, then right on Westover. Cross under Mopac then take a left on Jefferson. Take a right on 35th then stay right to go on to 34th and follow that all the way over to Speedway. Turn right on Speedway and then follow it left onto 31st street which leads you to Duval. Right on Duval which becomes San Jacinto through campus. Turn right on 11th, then left on Congress. Take a right on 3rd, over the wooden bridge, then left after Trader Joe's, right on Electric Drive back to GZL HQ.

Take a right on 3rd, over the wooden bridge, then left after Trader Joe's, right on Electric Drive back to GZL HQ.
16 Miles: From GZL HQ, cross over on the Pfluger Bridge and head west to Mopac. Take a right on 3rd, over the wooden bridge, then left after Trader Joe's, right on Electric Drive back to GZL HQ.

Turn right on Duval which becomes San Jacinto through campus. Turn right on 11th, then left on Congress. Take a right on 3rd, over the wooden bridge, then left after Trader Joe's, right on Electric Drive back to GZL HQ.

Take Shoal Creek up to White Rock where you'll turn left. Turn right on Great Northern and to up to Greenlawn Parkway where you'll turn around. Retrace your steps back to Shoal Creek. You've got a long gap between water stops here, so take a quick left on Shoal Creek and the second house on the right has a water jug and cups out for runners and cyclists. Take advantage of that! Then go back down Shoal Creek to Hancock and turn left, then yield left at North Loop. Take North Loop (which becomes 53rd) across to Duval. Turn right on Duval which becomes San Jacinto through campus. Turn right on 11th, then left on Congress. Take a right on 3rd, over the wooden bridge, then left after Trader Joe's, right on Electric Drive back to GZL HQ.

RACE SPECIFIC DISTANCES
HERE ARE SUGGESTED LONG RUN WORKOUTS FOR RACES THAT ARE IN THE FUTURE, AND MAY STILL BE SCHEDULED. IF YOUR RACE IS CANCELED, KEEP YOUR FITNESS BY ALTERNATING A LONGER LONG RUN AND A RECOVERY LONG RUN ON SUCCESSIVE WEEKENDS, DEPENDING ON YOUR CURRENT TRAINING LEVELS. (Ex: Alternate a 10-12 mile run with an 8-10 mile run).
September 5th (Patagonia Marathon): 12-14 mile recovery long run. Back down from last week’s longer run.
September 13th (Boston Virtual Marathon): 18-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 20 mile max.
October 25th (Marine Corps): 12-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 16 mile max.
