Choose your own time between 5:30-6:30am. If you need running friends, be there at 5:45am and ask Gilbert to help you. Come prepared by knowing your route in case you wind up on your own for part of your run.

Water stations are normal this week. Hand sanitizer will be affixed to the water barrels to do a quick clean of your water button pushing hands. Feel free to refill your own water bottles as needed. You may want to carry your own water still, depending on any of your own ad libbing on route variations.

4 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail (or bike path) to Mopac, up to LA Blvd, out to Exposition. Turn around at Expo, and retrace your steps back to HQ.
5.4 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail (or bike path) to Mopac, up to LA Blvd, out to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Enfield. Right on Enfield all the way under Mopac and up small hill. Veer right at Hartford Road to Palma Plaza, and take a left on Palma Plaza. At Y intersection, veer right onto W. 14th St. 14th over to West Lynn. Right on West Lynn and then quick Left onto W. 13th. 13th over to Windsor Road. Right on Windsor (name change to Blanco), and then left onto W. 12th. 12th over and up to West Avenue. Right on West down to W. 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ.

Colorado around to 11th Street. Left on 11th over to Congress, down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ.

Veer left at talking oil derrick at bottom of campus to Trinity. Trinity up to 11th Street. Right on 11th up and then down to Congress. Left on Congress down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ.

Right on Pleasant Valley down to Longhorn Dam to NORTHSIDE trail. Take Northside trail back to HQ. [NOTE: If you choose to cross over to southside trail and boardwalk at Longhorn Dam, you’ll end up slightly longer at 13.8 miles or so]
15 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail (or bike path) to Mopac, up to LA Blvd, out to Enfield. Right on Enfield all the way under Mopac and up small hill. Veer right at Hartford Road to Palma Plaza, and take a left on Palma Plaza. At Y intersection, veer right onto W. 14th St. 14th over to West Lynn. Right on West Lynn and then quick Left onto W. 13th. 13th over to Windsor Road. Right on Windsor (name change to Blanco), and then left onto W. 12th. 12th over and up to Guadalupe. Left on Guadalupe up to Dean Keeton. Right on Dean Keeton over and up to and under/over I-35. On East side of I-35, take a right on Lafayette, which changes names to Chicon in a block or so, and take Chicon down to E. 12th Street. Left on E. 12th over to Pleasant Valley Road. Right on Pleasant Valley down to and across Longhorn Dam to southside trail and boardwalk. Take SS Trail and boardwalk to Pfluger footbridge. Cross over to finish at HQ. [NOTE: If you return to HQ via northside trail from Longhorn Dam, it will be 14.7, virtually the same distance]

HERE ARE SUGGESTED LONG RUN WORKOUTS FOR RACES THAT ARE IN THE FUTURE, AND MAY STILL BE SCHEDULED. IF YOUR RACE IS CANCELED, KEEP YOUR FITNESS BY ALTERNATING A LONGER LONG RUN AND A RECOVERY LONG RUN ON SUCCESSIVE WEEKENDS, DEPENDING ON YOUR CURRENT TRAINING LEVELS. (Ex: Alternate a 10-12 mile run with an 8-10 mile run).
December 6 (CIM): Taper Madness Week 2 (in a non-Covid world). 12-16 miles, with last 6 @ MGP. Start relaxed, and finish at legit marathon goal pace.
December 6 (San Antonio Half): Taper Madness Week 2 (in a non-Covid world). 6-10 miles, with last 4 @ HMGP. Start relaxed, and finish at legit half marathon goal pace.
December 13 (BCS Marathon CANCELED): 14-18 miles, with last 8 @ MGP. Start relaxed, and finish at legit marathon goal pace.
December 20 (Decker Half New Date): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max.
January 17, 2021 (3M Half Marathon CANCELED and Houston Half Marathon VIRTUAL): 8-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max.
January 17, 2021 (Houston Marathon VIRTUAL): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 20 mile max. NOTE: You will have to add some miles of your choosing to bulk up the 15 miler listed above to 16-20 range.
