THE MAP
Water stations are normal this week. Hand sanitizer will be affixed to the water barrels to do a quick clean of your water button pushing hands. Feel free to refill your own water bottles as needed. You may want to carry your own water still, depending on any of your own ad libbing on route variations.
THE ROUTES
2.6 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Seaholm, up to 3rd Street, and across to Congress. Right on Congress down to Barton Springs Road. Right on BS Road over to dog supply place and turn right onto Lee Barton Drive. Pitch and putt course will be on your right on Lee Barton. Cross Riverside to Pfluger footbridge, and back to HQ. For 3 miles full, feel free to add a victory lap around the park at GZLs HQ.
4.4 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Seaholm, up to 3rd Street, and across to Congress. Right on Congress down to W. Mary St. Right on W. Mary over to S. Fifth. Right on S. Fifth back to Barton Springs Road. Cross Barton Springs Road, and continue past the arts center to the trail that skirts the new hill at the park there, to Riverside. Cross Riverside to Pfluger footbridge, and back to HQ.
5.4 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Seaholm, up to 3rd Street, and across to Congress. Right on Congress down to Oltorf. Right on Oltorf over to S. Fifth. Right on S. Fifth back to Barton Springs Road. Left on BS Road over to dog supply place and turn right onto Lee Barton Drive. Pitch and putt course will be on your right on Lee Barton. Cross Riverside to Pfluger footbridge, and back to HQ.

RIGHT on Rabb/Azie Morton Drive down to Barton Springs Road. Cross BS Road to south side trail. South side trail over to Mopac. Cross to north side via Mopac footbridge. North side trail back to HQ.

RACE SPECIFIC WORKOUTS
IF YOU ARE NOT TRAINING FOR A FOLLOWING RACE, KEEP YOUR FITNESS BY ALTERNATING A LONGER LONG RUN AND A RECOVERY LONG RUN ON SUCCESSIVE WEEKENDS, DEPENDING ON YOUR CURRENT TRAINING LEVELS. (Ex: Alternate a 10-12 mile run with an 8-10 mile run).
January 17, 2021 (Houston Half Marathon VIRTUAL): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run up to that 14 mile max.
January 17, 2021 (Houston Marathon VIRTUAL): 20-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run up to that 22 mile max. You’ll have to invent some extra miles to build on the 14 mile route below to build your 20-22 miler if you’re going that far.
April 25th, 2021 (Austin Half Marathon NEW DATE): 5-8 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run. If you’re running further than that nowadays, you can certainly do your current sort of long run.
