[Click for details] Saturday Long Run: PTP for 14-22 miles, UT out and back for 3-12 miles

It’s point to point for 14-22 milers, so carpooling will be necessary to get up to the various starts. Carpools will meet up and leave HQ at 5:15-5:30am to get up north for a 5:45am start.

18-22 miles: Go to Big Lots parking lot at 183 and Spicewood Springs.
14-16 miles: Go to Randall’s parking lot at Jollyville and Braker.

3 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Turn around at 11th @ San Jacinto, and return back to Congress, left on Congress down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ.

4 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to MLK. Turn around at MLK, and return up San Jacinto alongside the capitol grounds. Up up up to 11th Street, then right on 11th over to Congress, left on Congress down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ. 

5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus to 23rd St, which is the north end of the football palace. Turn around there, and return back through UT campus, veering right at bottom of campus to remain on San Jacinto alongside the capitol grounds. Up up up to 11th Street, then right on 11th over to Congress, left on Congress down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ. 

7 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus to Dean Keaton. San Jacinto to Duval. Veer right onto Duval up to 38th St. Turn around at 38th, and retrace your steps home. Duval back down to San Jacinto, through UT, to San Jacinto past the Capitol up to 11th. Right on 11th over to Congress. Left on Congress down to 3rd Street, right on 3rd St. and to Trader Joe's and back to HQ.

8 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Veer right onto Duval up to 53rd St. Left on 53rd, to name change to North Loop, cross Guadalupe and Lamar,  to Grover. Turn around at Grover, and retrace your steps home. North Loop to 53rd to Duval. Right on Duval back down to San Jacinto, through UT, to San Jacinto past the Capitol up to 11th. Right on 11th over to Congress. Left on Congress down to 3rd Street, right on 3rd St. and to Trader Joe's and back to HQ.

Take ramp on east side of I-35 up to walkway across bridge to southside trail. Take Southside trail and boardwalk back past Pfluger footbridge around the corner and across the footbridge over Barton Creek, staying around Neff Point. You will turn around on the trail where the concrete path leads up to Zilker. Turn around there, come back on SS trail to Pfluger footbridge and to HQ.

THE MARATHONS

  • Sept 22nd (Buenos Aires): Taper madness finishes. 8-12 miles, with last 4 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace.

  • Sept 29th (Berlin): Taper madness week 2. 12-16 miles, with last 6 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace.

  • Oct 5th (St. George): Taper madness begins. 14-18 miles, with last 8 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace.

  • Oct 12th-13th (Hudson River, Chicago): Last loooonnnggg run. 20-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 22 mile max.

  • Oct 20th (Detroit): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.

  • Oct 27th (MCM / M2M Marathons): 18-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 20 mile max.

  • Nov 2-3 (Revel Mt., NYC): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.

  • Nov 10th (Outer Banks): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 20 mile max.

  • Nov. 16th (Richmond): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.

  • Nov 23th (Shiner Half): 8-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 10 mile max.

  • Dec 7th (St. Jude’s Half, San Antonio Half): 5-8 miles. Recovery long run. Back off from last week a bit.

  • Dec 15th (Dallas Half, Decker Half): 6-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 10 mile max.

BEGINNER GAZELLES and EVERYBODY ELSE:

  • Beginner Gazelles: 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max.

  • Gazelles running with joy (not following a training plan: 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark.
