Saturday Long Run - O/B Expo to Pecos to 35th to Shoal Creek

START TIMES:

Everyone leaves Gazelles HQ at 5:45am.

THE MAPS 

If you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. Going out and back on the Expo to Pecos to Shoal Creek sort of course, out and back. There is construction on the north end of Exposition, so we’re avoiding that by taking Pecos instead.

THE ROUTES

3 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Turn around there, and return to GZLs HQ. Return Veterans to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

4 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Left on LA Blvd to Exposition. Turn around there, and return to GZLs HQ. Return Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

5 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Left on LA Blvd over to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Enfield. Turn around there, and return to GZLs HQ. From there, retrace your steps back down Exposition to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

7 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Left on LA Blvd over to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Pecos. Right on Pecos to Windsor Road. Turn around there, and retrace your steps (Pecos, to Enfield, to Exposition). Exposition down to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

8 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Northside trail to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Left on LA Blvd over to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Enfield. Left on Enfield over to Pecos. Right on Pecos to River Road. Turn around there, and retrace your steps (Pecos, to Enfield, to Exposition). Exposition down to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

Left on Enfield over to Pecos. Right on Pecos up all the way to 35th. Right on 35th up and over Mopac. Left on Jackson at first light to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek up to smaller condo/apartment complex on your left after the big senior complex. Turn around there, and retrace your steps back to HQ. (Bull Creek to Jackson to 35th to Pecos, to Enfield, to Exposition). Exposition down to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

Left on Enfield over to Pecos. Right on Pecos up all the way to 35th. Right on 35th up and over Mopac. Left on Jackson at first light to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek up to Hancock. Right on Hancock to Shoal Creek. Shoal Creek left up to White Rock. Left on White Rock over to Great Northern. Right on Great Northern up to Borden Road, which is three streets north of baseball complex. Turn around there, and retrace your steps back to HQ. (Great Northern to White Rock to Shoal Creek to Hancock to Bull Creek to Jackson to 35th to Pecos, to Enfield, to Exposition). Exposition down to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

Left on Enfield over to Pecos. Right on Pecos up all the way to 35th. Right on 35th up and over Mopac. Left on Jackson at first light to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek up to Hancock. Right on Hancock to Shoal Creek. Shoal Creek left up to White Rock. Left on White Rock over to Great Northern. Right on Great Northern up to Foster. Right on Foster to Shoal Creek. Turn around there, and retrace your steps back to HQ. (Foster to Great Northern to White Rock to Shoal Creek to Hancock to Bull Creek to Jackson to 35th to Pecos, to Enfield, to Exposition). Exposition down to Lake Austin Blvd, to Mopac. Stay on northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

THE MARATHONS

Sept 8th (Erie) - 18-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 20 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Sept 14th-15th (Big Cottonwood, Tunnel Light Marathon): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Sept 22nd (Buenos Aires): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 20 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Sept 29th (Berlin): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 5th (St. George): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 18 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 12th-13th (Hudson River, Chicago): 10-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 20th (Detroit): 12-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 16 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 27th (MCM / M2M Marathons): 10-12 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Nov 2-3 (Revel Mt., NYC): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 5:45am

Nov 10th (Outer Banks): 10-12 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Nov 24th (Phillie): 9-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles!  This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.

Aug 17th (SeaWheeze Half): Taper madness begins. 8-13 miles, with last 5 @ HMGP. Start easy, and then get into race pace for last 5 miles. Start time 5:45am.

Sept 8th (Columbia media marathon): 10-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 13th (30a Half): 6-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 10 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 26th (Spartan Beast Half): 6-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 10 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

2. Enfield @ Exposition (SW corner by baseball sign)
3. Pecos @ 35th (old dry cleaners)
4. Bull Creek just south of Hancock (on east side of street by car place fence)
5. Shoal Creek just south of White Rock (on west side of Shoal Creek)
