Our water stops are coordinated to support the routes and start times listed. If you modify the routes or start times, please take water to cover yourselves in case the water is unavailable.
THE ROUTES
3 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Pfluger footbridge to Mopac trail loop.
4 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise First St. bridge to Mopac trail loop.
5 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Congress bridge to Mopac trail loop.
7.5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail, east out to Longhorn Dam. Cross to south side of dam, to south side trail and boardwalk back to Pfluger bridge. Cross over LB Lake at Pfluger bridge, back to GZLs HQ.
8.2 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail, east out to Longhorn Dam. Cross to south side of dam, to south side trail and boardwalk back to Pfluger bridge. Cross over LB Lake at Pfluger bridge, and exit to north side trail. Take trail towards Mopac, and exit trail at metal A frame bathroom sculptures, crossing under Cesar Chavez on trail path to north side of Cesar Chavez and bike path. Take bike path back to GZLs HQ.
10 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail, east out to Longhorn Dam. Cross to south side of dam, to south side trail and boardwalk back to Mopac, up and across to north side trail and back to GZLs HQ.
12 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail, east out to Longhorn Dam. Cross to south side of dam, to south side trail and boardwalk west to Mopac, over and across to Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Turn around at Exposition, and return LA Blvd, and then back to Mopac, north side trail and back to GZLs HQ.
14 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail, east out to Longhorn Dam. Cross to south side of dam, to south side trail and boardwalk west to Mopac, over and across to Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Bowman (street past Windsor). Turn around at Bowman, and return Expo to LA Blvd back to Mopac. From Mopac, stay on north side trail and back to HQ.
16 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail, east out to Longhorn Dam. Cross to south side of dam, to south side trail and boardwalk west to Mopac, over and across to Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Bowman (street past Windsor). Turn around at Bowman, and return Expo to LA Blvd back to Mopac. From Mopac, cross to south side trail, over to First St. Bridge. Cross LB Lake on First ST Bridge to Northside trail. Stay on north side trail and back to HQ.
18 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail, east out to Longhorn Dam. Cross to south side of dam, to south side trail and boardwalk west to Mopac, over and across to Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Bowman (street past Windsor). Turn around at Bowman, and return Expo to LA Blvd back to Mopac. From Mopac, cross to south side trail, over past Congress to Boardwalk. Turn around on Boardwalk behind the seafood house on your right, and return to Congress bridge. Cross up and over LB Lake on Congress bridge, and rejoin north side trail behind hotel. From there, north side trail back to HQ.
20 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail, east out to Longhorn Dam. Cross to south side of dam, to south side trail and boardwalk west to Mopac, over and across to Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd out to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Bowman (street past Windsor). Turn around at Bowman, and return Expo to LA Blvd back to Mopac. From Mopac, cross to south side trail, over to I-35. Up and over LB Lake on the I-35 footpath to north side trail. From there, north side trail back to HQ. This measures just shy of 19, so choose your favorite bonus bit to get to the full 20.
THE MARATHONS
Jan 12th 2020 (Disney Dopey Challenge): Taper madness week 2. 12-16 miles, last 6 @ MGP. Start relaxed, and then for last 6 miles, lock into actual Marathon Goal Pace. Check with Coach or the pace computer on the website to determine MGP.
Jan 18th 2020 (REVEL Hawaii, Houston): Taper madness begins. 14-18 miles, last 8 @ MGP. Start relaxed, and then for last 8 miles, lock into actual Marathon Goal Pace.
Feb 9th 2020 (Galveston): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 20 mile max.
Feb 16th 2020 (Austin): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.
March 1, 2020 (Cowtown, Napa): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week.
April 20, 2020 (Boston): 12-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 14 mile max.
April 26, 2020 (Eugene/London): 9-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 12 mile max.
BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:
Beginner Gazelles! This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 5:45am.
Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.
Jan 19th, 2020 (3M Half, Houston Half): Taper madness ensues. 8-13 miles, with last 5 @ HMGP. Start relaxed, and then finish with 5 miles at actual half marathon goal pace.
Feb 16th 2020 (Austin Half): 5-8 miles recovery run.
Mar 1st 2020 (Napa Half, Publix Half): 5-8 miles recovery run.
Mar 15th 2020 (NYC Half): 6-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 10 mile max.
April 26th 2020 (Eugene Half): 5-8 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 8 mile max.
