Saturday Long Run

START TIMES (NOTE NEW START TIMES):

10-22 milers leaving from Gazelles HQ at 6:00am.

Beginners and 5-8 milers go from Gazelles HQ 6:30am.

THE MAPS

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. We are touring the UT Loop this week, with various avenues across town to join back with Exposition and back to GZLs HQ.

3 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Pfluger footbridge to Mopac trail loop.

4 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise First St. bridge to Mopac trail loop.

5 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Congress bridge to Mopac trail loop.

7 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to southside trail. Southside trail over to Mopac. Mopac up Veterans to LA Blvd. Left on LA Blvd over to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Windsor. Turn around at Windsor and return Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd over to Mopac, and northside trail back to GZLs HQ. This route measures 6.8 miles, so you know what to do to round up to 7 exactly.

8 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to southside trail. Southside trail over to Mopac. Mopac up Veterans to LA Blvd. Left on LA Blvd over to Exposition. Right on Expo up to Westover. Turn around at Westover and return Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd over to Mopac, and cross to southside trail. Southside trail over to Pfluger footbridge and back to HQ.

10 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus. San Jacinto to Duval, and veer right on Duval. Duval up to 38th Street. Left on 38th and take 38th across to its merge with 35th. 35th up and over to Exposition. Left on Expo all the way down to LA Blvd. Left onto LA Blvd and back to Mopac. Northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

12 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus. San Jacinto to Duval, and veer right on Duval. Duval up to 45th Street. Left on 45th and 45th across to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek down to Jackson. Right on Jackson and down to 35th. Right on 35th up and over to Exposition. Left on Expo all the way down to LA Blvd. Left onto LA Blvd and back to Mopac to southside trail. Hancock over to Shoal Creek. Right on Shoal Creek up to and across 2222/Northland, up to White Rock. Turn around there at the water stop, and return Shoal Creek back down to Hancock. Right on Hancock over to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek down to Jackson. Right on Jackson and down to 35th. Right on 35th up and over to Exposition. Left on Expo down to Enfield. Right on Enfield out to LA Blvd. Hard left onto LA Blvd and back to Mopac. Cross to southside trail, over to First Street bridge, and back over to northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

Jan 7th (Disney): Run with Joy, have fun at the Magic Kingdom.

Jan 14th (Houston, Louisiana): Taper week 3. 10-12 miles, with last 4 @ MGP. Start time 6:00am.

Feb 18th (Austin): 18-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 22 mile max. Start time 6:00am.

Feb 25th (Cowtown, Mesa, Tokyo): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 6:00am.

March 4th (Napa, New Orleans): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 20 mile max. Start time 6:00am.

March 18th (Big D): 12-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 16 mile max. Start time 6:00am.

April 16th (Boston): 14-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 16 mile max. Start time 6:00am.

April 22nd (London): 10-12 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 6:00am.

April 29th (Eugene): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 6:00am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles! This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 6:30am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 6:00am.

Jan. 14th (Houston Half):  Taper week 3. 4-8 miles w/ last 3 @ HMGP. Start relaxed, and finish with 3 miles of race pace. Start time 6:30am.

Jan. 21st (3M Half):  Taper week 2. 6-10 miles w/ last 3 @ HMGP. Start relaxed, and finish with 3 miles of race pace. Start time 6:30am.

Feb. 18th (Austin Half): 10-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 6:00am.
