Saturday Long Run

START TIMES:

10-22 milers leaving from Gazelles HQ at 5:45am.

Beginners and 5-8 milers go from Gazelles HQ 6:30am.

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. We are touring the South Austin starting miles of the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon course this Saturday, along with additional miles on Enfield/Expo and trail for those going extra long.

3 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Pfluger footbridge to Mopac trail loop.

4 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise First St. bridge to Mopac trail loop.

5 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Congress bridge to Mopac trail loop.

7.5 Miles: Your map is here. This is the start of the Austin Marathon, more or less. GZLs HQ to northside trail, over to Congress. Cross LB Lake on Congress bridge, and continue S. Congress down to Krebs Lane, just a short block from the Hwy 71 access road. Right on Krebs, around sweeping left hand turn, and then right onto Hwy 71 access road.  Access road (sidewalk, please!!) up to S. First. Right on S. First all the way to Auditorium Shores and southside trail. SS trail to Pfluger footbridge to HQ.

8 Miles: Your map is here. This is the start of the Austin Marathon, more or less. GZLs HQ to northside trail, over to Congress. Cross LB Lake on Congress bridge, and continue S. Congress down to Oltorf. Right on Oltorf to S. First. Right on S. First all the way to Auditorium Shores and southside trail. SS trail to Mopac, cross to northside trail, and back to HQ.

Turn around at Windsor, and return south on Expo down to LA Blvd, and then LA Blvd, to Mopac. At Mopac, cross to southside trail, over to Pfluger footbridge,  to northside trail, and back to HQ.

18 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to northside trail, over to Congress. Cross LB Lake on Congress bridge, and continue S. THE MARATHONS:

Nov. 5th (NYC): Taper madness, week 3. 10-12 miles, last 4 @ MGP. Nice and relaxed, kids. The race is NEXT week, not this week. Start time 5:45am from GZLs HQ.

Nov. 18th (Philly): Taper madness begins. 16-18 miles, last 8 @ MGP. Start time 5:45am from GZLs HQ.

Dec 3rd (CIM, San Antonio): 12-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Dec. 10th (Dallas, BCS, Honolulu): 18-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 22 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

2018 MARATHONS

Jan 7th (Disney): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 18 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Jan 14th (Houston, Louisiana): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Feb 18th (Austin): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles! This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 6:30am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.

Oct. 29th (Houston Half): Run smart, run with joy!

Nov. 5th (RFTW): 7-10 miles. Back off a bit from your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max. Start time 6:30am. This is a shakedown cruise before next week's race.

Nov. 12th (Las Vegas, S. Padre, FW Half): Taper Madness Week 2. 6-10 miles w/ last 3-4 @ HMGP. Easy rolling start, with last 3-4 miles at race pace. Start time 6:30am.

Nov. 18th (Philly Half): Taper Madness Begins. 8-13 miles w/ last 5 @ HMGP. Easy rolling start, with last 5 miles at race pace. Start time 5:45am.

Dec. 3rd (CIM Relay, San Antonio Half): 5-8 mile recovery run. Start time 6:30am.

Dec. 10th (Decker Half): 11-15 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 15 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Dec. 10th (Dallas, BCS Halfs): 11-15 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 15 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

2018 RACES (Half Marathons, etc.)
