Saturday Long Run

START TIMES:

10-22 milers leaving Gazelles HQ at 5:45am.
Beginners and 5-8 milers go from Gazelles HQ 6:30am

Physical therapists in the house Saturday. Take advantage of this free service if you have a nagging pain or tightness in your legs.

Jay is out this week so there will be no stretching.  But do the 20/20 exercises with your running pals.  They're good for you!

THE MAPS

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. We're heading up Mt. Bonnell this week.

3 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Pfluger footbridge to Mopac trail loop.

4 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise First St. bridge to Mopac trail loop.

5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB) and turn around at LAB and Exposition.  Retrace your steps back.

6 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB) and turn around at LAB and Jasper.  Retrace your steps back.  Note: You can go a little longer than 7 and turn around at the water stop at LAB and Memphis.

7 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB) and turn around at LAB and Enfield (or just before).  Retrace your steps back.

8 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB).  Follow along as it turns into Scenic, Cherry, then Rockmoor.  Turn around just before reaching Kennelwood and retrace your steps back.

10 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB).  Follow along as it turns into Scenic, Cherry, then Rockmoor.  Turn left on Stevenson and follow that around as it turns back into Scenic.  Turn around at Scenic Hills Dr. and retrace your steps back.

12 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB).  Follow along as it turns into Scenic, Cherry, then Rockmoor.  Turn left on Stevenson and follow that around as it turns back into Scenic.  Turn left on Pecos then left on 35th Street.  Turn around at 35th and Mt. Bonnell Road and retrace your steps back.

14 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB).  Follow along as it turns into Scenic, Cherry, then Rockmoor.  Turn left on Stevenson and follow that around as it turns back into Scenic.  Turn left on Pecos then left on 35th Street.  Take a right on Mt. Bonnell Road to the top, then continue past and take a right on Mt. Bonnell Drive.  Go to the stop sign at Balcones and turn around and retrace your steps back.


16 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB).  Follow along as it turns into Scenic, Cherry, then Rockmoor.  Turn left on Stevenson and follow that around as it turns back into Scenic.  Turn left on Pecos then left on 35th Street.  Take a right on Mt. Bonnell Road to the top, then continue past and take a right on Mt. Bonnell Drive.  Turn left on Edgemont, then right on Balcones.  Turn right on Hancock and go over Mopac, then right on Bull Creek.  Take a right on Jackson, then turn right on 35th Street and follow that back to Pecos.  Be careful between Exposition and Pecos and stay on the dirt trail on the north side of the road.  Turn left on Pecos right on Scenic and follow back the way you originally came on Scenic.  At Mopac, take the north side of the trail back to GZL HQ.


18 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB).  Follow along as it turns into Scenic, Cherry, then Rockmoor.  Turn left on Stevenson and follow that around as it turns back into Scenic.  Turn left on Pecos then left on 35th Street.  Take a right on Mt. Bonnell Road to the top, then continue past and take a right on Mt. Bonnell Drive.  Turn left on Edgemont, then right on Balcones.  Turn right on Hancock and go over Mopac.  Turn left on Shoal Creek and go up to Norhtland / Allandale where you will turn around.  Go back Shoal Creek, right on Hancock, then left on Bull Creek.  Take a right on Jackson, then turn right on 35th Street and follow that back to Pecos.  Be careful between Exposition and Pecos and stay on the dirt trail on the north side of the road.  Turn left on Pecos right on Scenic and follow back the way you originally came on Scenic.  At Mopac, take the north side of the trail back to GZL HQ.

20 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB).  Follow along as it turns into Scenic, Cherry, then Rockmoor.  Turn left on Stevenson and follow that around as it turns back into Scenic.  Turn left on Pecos then left on 35th Street.  Take a right on Mt. Bonnell Road to the top, then continue past and take a right on Mt. Bonnell Drive.  Turn left on Edgemont, then right on Balcones.  Turn right on Hancock and go over Mopac.  Turn left on Shoal Creek, left on White Rock, then left on Great Northern.  Go to Hunt Trail, just north of the ball fields and turn around.  Take a left on Bullard, left on White Rock, then right on Shoal Creek.  Go back Shoal Creek and take a right on Hancock then left on Bull Creek.  Take a right on Jackson, then turn right on 35th Street and follow that back to Pecos.  Be careful between Exposition and Pecos and stay on the dirt trail on the north side of the road.  Turn left on Pecos right on Scenic and follow back the way you originally came on Scenic.  At Mopac, take the north side of the trail back to GZL HQ.

22 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ across Pfluger Bridge to southside and go to Mopac.  Go up Veterans to Lake Austin Blvd (LAB).  Follow along as it turns into Scenic, Cherry, then Rockmoor.  Turn left on Stevenson and follow that around as it turns back into Scenic.  Turn left on Pecos then left on 35th Street.  Take a right on Mt. Bonnell Road to the top, then continue past and take a right on Mt. August 26th -27th (Wausau/Santa Rosa): 16-18 mile with last 8 at MGP.  Start time 5:45am.

Sept 10th (Erie): 12 - 14 mile recovery long run. Start time 5:45am.

Sept 16th (Light at the End of the Tunnel): 18-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 22 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Sept 24th (Berlin): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 1st (Twin Cities/Wineglass/Maine):  16-20 miles.  Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 20 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 7th/8th (Chicago/St. George/Portland): 10-14 mil recovery long run. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 15h (Columbus): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 18 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 21st/22nd (M2M, MCM): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Start time 5:45am.

Nov. 5th (NYC): 10-12 mile recovery long run. Start time 5:45am.

Nov. 18th (Philly): 10-12 miles. Start time 5:45am.

Dec. 3rd (CIM / San Antonio): 9-12 miles. Start time 5:45am.

Dec. 10th (Dallas / BCS / Honolulu): 9-12 miles. Start time 5:45am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles! This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 6:30am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.

Oct. 1st (Wineglass / Portland Half): 10-14 miles.  Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct. 29th (Houston Half): 10-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Nov. 12th (Las Vegas / S. Padre / Ft. Worth Half): 7-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Nov. 18th (Philly Half): 5-8 mile recovery long run. Start time 6:30am.

Dec. 3rd (CIM Relay / San Antonio half): 5-8 mile recovery long run. Start time 6:30am.

Dec. 10th (Dallas / BCS): 5-8 mile recovery long run. Start time 6:30am.
