What do Austin, Houston, Seattle and Kansas City all have in common? They all have crazy triathletes that also like to blog about it! This picture is a gem taken last night when TriGreyhound found himself surrounded by the tri-blog hotness of (from l to r) Tri to Be Funny, and brand new Austinites Crazy Jane, Coach Tammy and Little Miss Runner Pants!!Carrie (that's just my tank top roll and not Fri, Sep 5 2008, 03:23 PM - Tri to Be Funny

Yeah, so I ran home from work on Tuesday. Why the hell not? Roughly eleven miles, give or take some parking lots, and 95 minutes total (counting the blessed Barnes & Noble water stop on Brodie), 88 minutes running time. The above pretty much describes the last couple of days of my training (and present emotional capacity).First and foremost, the Nike Human Race 10k was a blast and I'm glad that I decided to run it at the last moment. I was walking my dog Pandora outside a few hours ago and could not believe the brilliance of this double rainbow. The photography does not do it justice. Mon, Sep 1 2008, 04:00 AM - Desirée Ficker's Updates
I love the Canadian national anthem. Attending the Olympics and various other national track competitions growing up it was rare to hear the anthem playing on the victor stand. USA and Russia were usually taking over the speakers back then. When it was played, however, I always enjoyed it and it would remain in my head for the rest of the day. It seems to have the right idea as far as a national a Mon, Sep 1 2008, 04:00 AM - Desirée Ficker's Updates

Our friends from Ohio, Bob and Tracy, left Austin bound for home. Shawn is currently at work and I'm suffering the "hangover" of an incredibly busy, emotional and action-filled week. Instead of enjoying this quiet time and basking in relaxation, I'm twitching with anxiety. Why can't I learn to sit still and just "be?" Ironically, I'm running the Nike Human Race 10k tonight in downtown Austin, so m Sun, Aug 31 2008, 05:39 PM - Tri to Be Funny
and sometimes it just feels plain weird giving strangers an insight of what's going on around here.It was a very interesting and eventful summer. My oldest boy turned 16, Ashley will soon be 15 and i have to tell you, time is moving fast!! My 12 yr. old flew to my dad's farm for Labor Day weekend. So, it's a quiet Labor Day for me, with just 3 children. No wonder i have time to ponder this blog. I Sun, Aug 31 2008, 09:16 AM - Landloop
